vaccine
The internet is a-buzz with Dr. Russel Blaylock's protocol to counteract the negative effects of the H1N1 vaccine.

Recently, Dr. Bill Deagle interviewed Dr. Blaylock about ways to defend yourself against the negative effects of the vaccine. I'm re-posting his recommendations here, not to address the issues, good or bad, with vaccines but rather to let people know how they can minimize the side effects and complications of the vaccine if they choose to take it, (or are forced to by threat of losing employment). There is a great deal of information out there in the alternative press that gives a good picture of the pros and cons of the H1N1 vaccine, so interested readers should do a little of their own research.

Dr. Blaylock is a board certified neurosurgeon, an author of three books including Health and Nutrition Secrets That Can Save Your Life, and is also a well-respected lecturer. This protocol is given to counteract possible effects of the H1N1 vaccine, not the flu itself. Immune system over-reactions caused by the vaccine can lead to what Dr. Blaylock call's a "cytokine storm" - where the immune system releases too many immune cells called cytokines to deal with the invading virus. Side effects can be severe.

You can also find an interview Dr. Mercola of mercola.com did with Dr. Blaylock on YouTube in 4 parts (collated on one page here) that gives a lot of additional background information.

Dr. Blaylock's protocol after the jump.

The first, and possibly most important recommendation Dr. Blaylock gives is to apply a cold compress to the injection site as soon as possible after the shot is administered. Cold will stop an unwanted immune reaction to the vaccine. You should continue to apply it throughout the day. If you wake up feeling the effects of the shot still (severe headaches, fever, lethargy, difficulty thinking), he recommends a cold shower and continue with the cold packs.

Before getting the shot, Dr. Blaylock suggests a few supplements. He recommends the antioxidants curcumin (from turmeric) and quercitin in high-dose one hour before the shot and continued use of these for a few days after the shot. These, as well as flavanoids ferulic acid and ellagic acid, will mitigate long term immune reactions caused by adjuvants in the vaccine. He also recommends high EPA omega-3 oils, such as fish oil in high dose form one hour before receiving the shot. High dosage EPA will actually suppress the immune system and again, avoid the body's unwanted reaction to the vaccine.

Perhaps the best defense against vaccine complications is vitamin D. Vitamin D3 is the best form of vitamin D to take. It should be noted that foods fortified with vitamin D are not the right form or nearly the right dosage recommended, so don't think you can rely on milk or soy milk to get all you need to calm an over-active immune system or bump up an underactive one. Dr. Blaylock recommends 2,000-3,000 units of vitamin D per day; jumping that up to 10,000 units per day after immunization. He also suggests 500 - 1000mg of calcium along with the vitamin D.

After receiving the shot, Dr. Baylock recommends vitamin C (1000mg 4 times per day, between meals) and vitamin E (particularly a formula high in "gamma E", a specific form of vitamin E) for anti-oxidant protection for the nervous system.

Astaxanthin is a carotenoid phytonutrient found in marine oils, particularly krill oil. Dr. Baylock recommends taking this regularly to protect against inflammatory effects of the vaccine. Zinc is another nutrient needed to make sure one is protected because if you're deficient you can have detrimental reactions to any infection.

Also, a multi-vitamin is recommended, to make sure you're getting all the necessary nutrients. Try to find one of good quality with B vitamins, high in selenium and zinc but with no iron or copper. Dr. Blaylock also recommends avoiding immune system stimulants like supplements with mushroom extracts, whey protein or beta glucan.

As far as dietary considerations are concerned, Dr. Blaylock recommends avoiding high mercury seafood (and any other source of mercury). Mercury suppresses proper immune function making you more susceptible to viral infections. He also recommends avoiding things which suppress immunity and increase inflammation including the use of oils made of corn, safflower, canola, peanut, soybean, or sunflower.

The catechins in white tea have been shown to prevent abnormal immune reactions and so Dr. Blaylock recommends 4 cups of strong white tea per day. He also suggests drinking parsley and celery in a smoothie twice per day because they contain two highly potent flavanoids (apogenin and luteolin, respectfully) which will help modulate immune reaction.

Again, I'm repeating this protocol here for those who wish to minimize the possibility of negative effects stemming from receiving the vaccine. These steps should be taken in conjunction with the advice and help of a natural health practitioner.
